ERAS® Implementation Program (EIP)
EIP is an implementation and training program designed to assist perioperative care teams to implement, reach and maintain a high compliance level across the different ERAS® Protocols available.
Much of the focus is on building well-functioning teams from various units involved in surgical care, introducing highly specific changes to current routines to conform to best practice, and providing the tools to monitor and analyze the effects of those changes, through ERAS® Interactive Audit System (EIAS). The EIP Implementation Program is based on teamwork - nurses, anesthesiologists, surgeons and other experts involved in the perioperative process train and work together in teams.
The program follows a specific series of 4 workshops with active projects being performed at home sites in-between. Everything is done with the support of an ERAS® Coach and medical expertise puller together through the EBM guidelines provided by the ERAS® Society. The program uses EIAS as a key vehicle to help monitor, control and change of out-dated clinical practice to that of the most current best care.
The program runs for a period of 8-10 months, see picture below.
